Theme of the Issue
The new issue of TELLŪS continues and expands the inquiry into the postnatural condition, shifting its focus toward the increasingly complex ecologies of the artificial.
In contemporary reality, the distinction between natural and artificial no longer operates as a stable boundary, but as a dynamic and contested field: environments are algorithmically mediated, bodies are technologically extended, and forms of life emerge through hybrid assemblages of biological, digital, and synthetic processes. In this scenario, ecology is no longer only the study of natural systems, but the analysis of interconnected material, technical, cognitive, and symbolic environments.
This issue invites contributions that explore how posthuman transformations reshape not only ecosystems, but also subjectivities, temporalities, and forms of perception. The artificial is no longer external to life: it participates in its very production, its imaginaries, and its modes of existence.
We particularly encourage reflections on how literature, poetry, and visual practices can articulate these new conditions—not only through critical discourse, but also through experimental and speculative forms of narration.
What kinds of worlds emerge when intelligence becomes distributed across human and non-human systems? How do bodies, identities, and ecologies transform within technological environments that are no longer tools, but habitats? What aesthetic and narrative forms are capable of expressing the postnatural condition?
We welcome critical essays, theoretical explorations, poetic works, and narrative experiments that engage with these questions.
